Statement of the jury
On 31 August 2017 in Basel, a high-profile audience comprising car collectors, designers, dealers of exclusive vehicles and media representatives was invited to join together at one of the halls in the Basel Trade Fair Centre for the launch of a new exhibition format. The name of the new exhibition: Grand Basel – the first exhibition for the most significant and valuable cars in the world – historic, contemporary, and forward-thinking at the dynamic interface between art, design, architecture and culture. The organisation behind this new trade fair is the MCH Group, who, together with Art Basel and Baselworld, are breaking new ground – with regard to both the quality of the vehicles on offer and the presentation of these mobile works of art. It is not only the idea behind this exhibition that is impressive, but also the brand presence, conceived and developed by Blue Scope in Berlin that won over the jury, from the choice of name, the development of the CI, logo design and the use of the CI, right through to the architectural and spatial design.
